My Personal Beliefs
I believe all people are good at some things, ok at some things, and not so good at some things. Sometimes the pattern of difficulties we have meet criteria for a diagnosis of ADHD, ASD, or other mental health concerns. I believe our society has come a long way, but that there are still plenty of cases where people can feel shame due to mental illness.
I consider it one of my missions to help my clients feel more fulfilled and satisfied in their life and to help them eliminate any sense of shame they may experience. I use testing to help patients understand that there are certain ways their brain works. Just as we would not blame someone if they were color blind for not seeing certain colors or blame someone who has diabetes for not eating certain foods, we all deserve to have respect and understanding for why our brains work the way they do.
“Every day, it is my privilege to witness how a diagnosis of ADHD and ASD helps students and adults be more successful in the classroom, at work, and in their personal lives.”
A little about me
While in graduate school, I pursued training from top mental health opportunities. I completed my first practicum year at the University of Minnesota Pediatric Neurology Clinic, the Discovery Clinic. Following that, I completed my internship at Fraser, where I continued to receive training from some of Minnesota’s best minds in mental health assessment. I then worked at Lakeville Behavioral Health, a private group practice, for several years, providing mental health testing and training others in ADHD evaluations.
In 2019, I began working at Allina Health, where I am currently the Lead Psychologist for the East Region Ambulatory (outpatient) Psychology. There is still a lot of stigma against mental health care and testing, but not here. I believe that taking tests requires courage, and I want to ensure that your experience is a positive one.

I have been interviewed dozens of times by TV, radio, and podcast media – this page features links to a few of these interviews. I have also presented at community meetings as well as state and national conferences on issues related to ADHD and screen addition, mental health care access, and parenting styles.
